A Quick With Sympathy Card

Hello, I just wanted to share a quick card today. It is another with sympathy loss of a pet card, this time it's for a lady at my church who just lost her sweet little dog.

I used the Papertrey Ink With Sympathy: loss of pet stamp set for the sentiment. The pretty little flower is from a Stampin up set:  Simply Soft.  I used my distress inks to paint in the flower and then to distress the edges of the paper.

Well I'm off to drop this card in the mail, I hope that you are having a great day :)

A Quick and Fun Birthday Card

Hello everyone, I just wanted to take a minute to share a quick and fun birthday card I created for my cousin’s birthday. Her birthday is next Sunday so, I am hoping to drop it off in the mail box tonight so it will be picked up tomorrow first thing tomorrow morning.
I have had this card cut out and sitting on my craft for a week now, so I am glad that I finally got it put together! I think that it just might make it to her on time…lol :)

This card was cut from the Something to Celebrate Cricut cartridge. It was cut out at 4 ½ so it will be able to fit into a standard A2 sized envelope.

Around the gift and ribbon I inked them up on the edges with some distress ink, and then I embossed the gift with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.
For the flowers I used my Gypsy to close the circle in the middle of the flower so I could then add a cute little pearl. I then added some glitter to the pink part of the flower to add some shimmer to the card!!!

For the inside of the card I cut out the present one more time on white card stock and just used my paper trimmer to cut off the flowers, so I would be left with a square that would fit the shape of the present. I used a Scrappy mom’s stamp form their Everyday Greetings stamp set for the sentiment.

I hope that everyone is having a great day! :)

As I was writing this post I was watching a beautiful sunset from my living room window. Wasn’t it just gorgeous tonight?

With Sympathy , Loss Of A Dog

Today’s post is on a sadder note. A couple of weeks ago my mother –in-law’s dog Bruno past away :( . This is also sad for my husband and I because Bruno (a Jack Russell Terrier) use to be our dog. When we were first married we got him as a puppy, and had him until he was 4. He was a great dog, but once our son became a toddler we were running into some trouble.  It was a hard decision for us to give him to my mother-in-law but I knew he would have a wonderful life with her and my brother-in-law.

She loved him very much and has been a little blue since his death. I wanted to make her this card just to let her know that I was thinking of her.

I saw the With Sympathy: Loss of a Pet mini stamp set at Papertrey Ink and I knew it would be a nice one to have. Many of my friends and my sister all have pets that are getting older, and sending a card is a nice way to let someone know that you are thinking of them.

To create this card I used a text stamp to create a nice background. I then used a new stamp set to me from Papertrey Ink, The Sweet Life to stamp the beautiful flowers in the corner. I rounded the corners of a rectangle piece of paper and stamped on my sentiment. I popped both it and the paw print up with pop dots.  There was a sentiment stamped on the inside of the card too, but I forgot to take the picture before I closed the envelope.

A Girly Leaf Shaped Card :)

Creating shaped cards are so much fun, and this Button Up for Fall challenge was no exception :) . Sara at live, love and SCRAP's theme for her second challenge was to create a fall themed card with a button, so I made my card a girly leaf card...lol.

I decided to create a leaf card as well because I just got the Papertrey Ink’s Falling Leaves stamp set and was super excited to use it :)

I have created a video for my YouTube channel so I thought that I would also share that with you here:

I forgot to add the button while making my video, so I have done that now ...lol :)

This challenge was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to what the next challenge will be :)

Halloween Cupcakes

After making the cute mummy cards I made for our friends and family I wanted to make a little something special for my husband and boys. Keeping with the mummy theme I decided to make them these cute mummy cupcakes!!!

I started off by making yellow cupcakes then icing them with some black butter cream icing. I created the eyes and bandages with fondant, tinting the fondant with some buttercup yellow Wilton food colouring for the bandages. I rolled out the fondant and then cut it into strips, and positioned them on the cupcake!

Super easy peasy and I loved how they turned out :)

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween :)

Happy Halloween :)

Halloween is such a fun time of year! This year I wanted to make some cards to mail off to all the kids in my family and to some friends too  :)
Here is a video I posted on my YouTube channel describing my cards and some treat bags:

I decided to make some fun tags to go with the treat bags.
I used a recollection stamp set to create the fun image and some Distress ink and a blender pen to colour in the socks. An Obsession Impression stamp set to create the Happy Halloween sentiment.
The tag was cut out with a Papertrey Ink Tag die and the scallop circle and the circle were cut out with the Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge.

I hope everyone has a very fun Halloween :)

Happy Birthday Mr. Joshua :)

My nephew turned 10 on the 10th and we are going to see him tomorrow … and deliver his birthday gift to him.  I wanted to create a fun yet older card for him, I don’t know about you, but 10 seems so old! I guess it's also a time when you reflect about the past 10 years and also think what will the next 10 will hold. Over the next 10 he will be turning 20!!!... and be all grown up.

Here is the card that I made for him:

This fun little card is a 4x4 card and the layers are 1/8th inch smaller than each other, and the patterned paper is from a DCWV  Edumacation stack.
The cute little cake is cut from the Something to Celebrate Cricut cartridge and I have stamped the face with a Peachy Keen Stamp.  I have given him some rosy cheeks with some chalks and popped him him up on some pop dots.
The fun sentiments are from the My Pink Stamper Sweetest Cupcakes stamp set, which I just love.

~ps. Happy Birthday Josh!!

A Back to School Hello!

With school just around the corner I wanted to make a cute little card that I could send out to my Niece and Nephew. I wanted to send them some words of encouragement for their new year and I know how much all kids just love getting mail!!! I also wanted to send a card to a little girl whom I babysat for two years, she is starting school for the first time this year.

This is the fun little card that I came up with:

For my Niece

For my Nephew

For our little friend

I thought using lined school paper would be so cute to stamp my sentiment on, just to give it that school feeling :) . The rest of the patterned paper is by K and Company's Sweet Nector stack and by Pink Paisley’s Olds school pack. The solid paper is from Recollections, and has been embossed the Cuttlebug folder Baby's Breath for the two pink cards and Spots and Dots for the black card.
The sentiment is from a Scrappy moms set: Everyday Greetings. This cute pencil is cut from the Cricut cartridge Simply Charmed.

I hope these cards arrive to their destinations this week before school starts, and that they all enjoy getting them!

Cheryl

Hello

Hi every one, I just wanted to say a quick hello. I know that it has been a long time since my last post but I have been busy and tired.  We have just moved at the end of July, relocating cities! Our new home is in a city that is about 2 hours from our past home. My husband was promoted within his company which is why we moved and so far it has been great, he loves his new job we all love our new house!!
Moving here was a big step for us as a family. We do not know anyone here so we are all starting from scratch, new schools for my boys, new office for my husband and a new church for all of us! It was hard leaving our life behind.  I cannot wait until we have a couple of weeks of school under our belt and my boys have made some friends, and we find a church where we can start making some great connections with others and with God.
My birthday is tomorrow and a little while ago my husband was asking what I would like. I mentioned I would like a Cinch and that is what I got!! (he is such a great husband, and I am reminded of it all the time) It arrived Tuesday so I immediately opened it and then started a new mini album…lol! I think that I will work on it a little this afternoon J
I hope everyone is having a great day J

Three recycled cards :D

I am almost at the point of packing up all my craft stuff, so I am trying finish up all my crafty projects!!  It seems like I keep thinking up things that I should create, so my list is getting longer and longer!!!  We have a lot of summer birthdays in our family so I am pre-making all of the birthday cards for them.  I have even been getting some requests for what people would like!!!  LOL
My mind has been racing lately trying to organize everything and get ready for our move so for the last couple of cards that I created I have just recycled some ideas of older cards that I have already created. This just helps the creating processes along. There is very little to decide on so all I have to do is  create!!! Lol

The first card is very simple, it is an A2  sized card and the sentiment has been stamped from a Recollections stamp from their Fun Borders stamp set. I just used a water pen and some distress ink to paint in the bumblebee.
The flowers are from Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and I inked around the edges to give them some depth. To finish it off I put a flat backed pearl in the centers of the flowers.

The second card is a pretty card for a good friends wedding. I used the layout of my mom’s get well soon card. I just loved how that card turned so I thought that it would be perfect for the happy couple!!
This card is a 4x4 square card.  The circle scallop is cut from the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge, and the champagne glasses are from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. The flowers are from a Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is from an  Impression Obsession stamp set.

Finally the third card is a birthday card for my niece who is turning 8! She has been very excited about her birthday this year and has been counting down the days for about a month. Her birthday is not until the end of July so she still has a while still to go!  I created this card for my cousin’s daughter back in March and I shared it on my YouTube channel. I just loved how it turned out so I thought that I would make it again.
The cute little cupcake is from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. I used the Happy Birthday Cuttebug embossing to create the background.  The sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper’s Birthday Crazy stamp set. A little twine a button, some glitter on the flames and the cheecks of the cupcake helped finish off this card!!!

I decided to recycle these card ideas because the recipients of my cards did not see the cards the last time around. So unless they see their version of them here or on my YouTube channel it will be a surprise for them!! J

For all the Canadians have a Happy Canada Day
and
for the Americans have a Happy Fourth of July!!!

A Happy Birthday Card and Treat

Over the weekend a good friend celebrated her birthday. We went over on Saturday night to have some cake and spend some time with her and this is what I made for her :)

The card is from the Something to Celebrate Cricut cartridge, and is cut using the card feature. This card came together very easily and quickly too…lol.  I ran the cake layer through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then added yellow glitter glue to the flames on the candle for some extra sparkle :) The sentiment inside the card is from the Birthday Crazy stamp set from My Pink Samper.
For her little treat I bought some pink jellybeans. I then wanted to continue the pink theme while making the box for them.  I used the Bags Tags Boxes and More 2 cartridge and cut out a little milk carton.  I used the same pink paper from the card for the edges of the box and embossed it with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder to match the card.
The tag was cut  from the Winter Woodlands Cricut cartridge, and the happy birthday sentiment is from an Impression Obsession stamp set and the monogram is from a Martha Stewart stamp set.

She and her daughters loved the card and really enjoyed all the jellybeans…lol We all had a wonderful evening  and I’m really happy she like everything J

A Get Well Card for my Mom

It has been a while since my last post, we have been very busy and time has just gotten away from me!!
My husband has been promoted within his company which is just wonderful, but that means a move to a new city for us! I am so proud of him and I am beginning to realize all the work that goes into relocating to a new city!
Besides all the moving details that we have going on, my mother has just had knee replacement surgery. I have been trying to go and see her and just spend some time with her while she has been under the weather and recovering. She is now back at home and she is recovering very well :)
I made her a card for while she was in the hospital, my mother always loves “pretty” things so I tried to make her a pretty card … lol!

This card is 41/4 square card and all the paper is from recollections. The scallop circle is cut from the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge, and the flowers are from a Martha Stewart flower punch.
The flower in the center of the card is a stamp from the Papertrey Ink stamp set Spiral Bouquet. The sentiment is stamped from a Impression Obsession stamp set.

I am feeling very relieved and thankful that my mother sugary went so well :) She is having the other knee replaced over the next couple months so when both are done and she is ok I will feel very happy.

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the special ladies out there! I would like to take a moment to share with you some of the lovely surprises that I received today.  I am a mother to 3 wonderful little boys and I have loving husband, I always feel very blessed to have them in my life but on a day like today I am reminded of just how blessed I am.
This morning I came down stairs to find a gift bag and some cards waiting for me on the kitchen table.  This is what was inside…

My best friend also dropped off a card this afternoon, which was a wonderful surprise and also very touching :)

A quick journal entry about today

A Cool place to keep all my Mother's Day cards :)

I have been wanting a smash book for some time now and my husband got me one!!! I always thought that this would be a fun way to scrapbook about the fun everyday things that happen.  I also got the date stamp that goes with it  :)  I really love painting my nails so it was nice to receive a new nail polish… it is really really cool!!!

At our church this morning they handed out flowers to all the ladies, so my pretty flower will live on the kitchen table for the next little while.
We rounded out our Mother’s Day with a brunch with my mom, my sister and her two kids and my cousin his wife and their children. It was really nice being all together. My cousin  lives 4 hours away so I  was really happy he could make it!

Cheryl
