Crazy For Unicorns!

Last month was my birthday and I received many crafty presents, one of them was a super cute unicorn stamp set from Simon Says Stamp!
I was excited to get this stamp set and today was the day I got some time in my craft room to use it. I coloured  several unicorns and wound up creating two cute cards with them.
Here is what I came up with:

Here are the supplies I used to create this card:

and the colours I used to colour everything in:

The second card I made was a lot of fun to make but caused me a lot of trouble!! I decided to make a shaker card and everything that could go wrong with this card did...lol
I forgot to stamp the front of the card before I assembled it and then once I did everything started to leak out!! I was able to fix it but I had to alter my sentiment and put it onto a banner across the front. All in all I love how it turned out:

and here is all the supplies I used to make this card:

I explained my process of how I created these cards over on my YouTube channel, so I thought I would share that video here too...

It's been a hot and rainy day here, I'm hoping that tomorrow is a little nicer outside although I did have a wonderful day hiding out in my craft room! Well until next time...

Pretty Roses

Well today's card was really fun to make. I pulled out one of my all time favourite stamp sets from Papertrey Ink and some pretty pink and green inks and got started.
This card was for my mom, last week was her birthday so I had a whole rose theme going on with her gift and a coordinating card. I got her some rose scented hand cream and soap and then some matching pink roses for her home. Making the card was just the icing on the cake as far is matching everything all together!!

The roses on the card was stamped using the Papertrey Ink "The Sweet Life" Stamp set and with some Simon says and Hero Arts inks.
The Happy was cut out with my Silhouette and the Elegance font. I cut it out three times and then layered them on top of each other for some depth. I then covered the "Happy" with some clear Wink of Stella.  The birthday was stamped
with a stamp from a My Pink Stamper set Birthday Crazy.  To balance out the card I used some Antique Linen Distress Ink on the top left and bottom right corners  :)

Masculine Monday: Happy Birthday Cool Dude!!

Hello and hope you have had a wonderful Monday! We had a busy weekend with our first baseball practice of the season so today has been long, I've been a bit sore but it's been good!! lol
I did get some time in my craft room and I had the pleasure of making another card for my Masculine Monday series.
I saw some cute sunglasses int the Silhouette store a while ago and I thought that they would be perfect for a masculine card!!

Here is what I came up with:

Here is the video I made for my YouTube channel describing the process of making this card:

We've had a chilly start to the week here but at least there was no snow...lol. Well not yet!!

A Personalized Stationery Gift Set

Hello and happy Friday :) It has been a very busy day here today, my boys have had a PA day today and we have a friend over all day.

Tonight we are visiting with a very good friend Becky, my sister Ruth, niece and nephew. Becky's birthday is January 1st and today is the first time I am seeing her since her birthday. I wanted to make something special for her so I decided to make her some personalized stationery.

This the note card that I made, it is a set of 6 cards with co-coordinating envelopes:

Here is a video that I made for my YouTube channel thecraftnut32 with a quick explanation of how I made this sweet stationery set:

I hope that you have had a great day and will have a great weekend too!!!

Working On My December Daily...

This week has just flown by... It is hard to believe that we are going into our second week of December already!!!
We spent yesterday afternoon decorating our tree and our house and then last night our church had it's annual Christmas concert that we went to and now.... it's starting to feel a lot like Christmas....lol
All we need now is some snow!!

Over the last few weeks I have been working on making my first December Daily. If you're not familiar with what this is, it is a scrapbook with at least one picture for every day in December.
I'm just about done making it and I have taken all my pictures and organized them into a folder in my pictures. I thought this would make it much easer when it is time to send them off to be developed. It would save me the time of going through everything and trying to remember which picture was for my December Daily.

I think that I would have been done making it by now but as soon as I was ready to put everything together I changed my mind on how I was going to number each day!!!
At first I was going to have cute little candies, snowflakes, banners and scalloped circles for the number of  day but as I made my first page I realized that it was just to big. The numbers were also to big to fit inside for the double digit day and it was going to be in the way of my journaling tag. :(
I have since gone with a much simpler number design and have decided to use lots of embellishments on each page instead.

I used a Kraft cardstock for the background and a black number and I really like how clean and simple it is :)

Today I had a fun crafty moment with my youngest son Nathan. He went to a birthday party this afternoon and before he went we made his friend a birthday card.

We personalized the inside of the card and the envelope, for the front I cut out this cute little doggie from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and then embossed the blue background paper and the back of the envelope with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing folder. The paw print and the sentiment are from the My Pink Stamper Even More Punny-licious stamp set. I cut everything out and Nathan helped with the rest!! It was a lot of fun!!

I hope that you have had a great weekend!!!!

A Boy's Birthday Card

Last month during Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp I received some birthday balloon dies when I placed my order and today I had a chance to finally pull them out and use them!!!!
It is my nephew's 12th birthday, I wanted to make him a card that he would appreciate, nothing baby or little kiddish...lol Creating male cards is always a bit of a challenge so I thought that using these balloon dies would be perfect!

Here is the YouTube I made describing my card:

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and to all my fellow Canadians I hope you have a very
Happy Thanksgiving!!

A Cute Shaker Card and Some Star Wars Fun :)

TGIF...lol It was a beautiful day today but a busy one. Everyone was very tired here today which made for a long day full of crying boys... but it did end well so I am thankful for that :)

I had some time today in my craft room and I took the opportunity to clean it out and organize, which was long overdue!!! It has been my dumping ground over the last couple of weeks so I am very happy that everything is put away, de-cluttered and organized. I also made some time to craft ;)

After receiving all my goodies yesterday from Papertrey Ink I was dying to take them out and play, I am very happy that I was able to do that today.
I made a birthday card with my new Papertrey Ink Sparkle and Shine stamp set for the little girl who lives next door. Her favourite colours are pink and purple so I kept that in mind while creating her card. I also made her a little treat box from my Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More - in pink...of course...lol

I have really been enjoying my PTI Shaker kit and I was really happy to use it once again. I used the heart confetti plate to cut out the little hearts in pink and purple and I also used some of the hearts and glitter that was included in the kit.

Yesterday there was a book fair at my boy's school and they all bought some new books. Matthew chose the final book in the Paper Yoda series,  ART2-D2's and has been busy all day making paper Star Wars things.
He was excited to share what he made, he made the Storm Troopers helmet with a trooper inside. How cute and clever is that??? This series is so cute, such fun books!!!

It's so much fun watching Matthew create these fun little origami puppets, he is doing such a great job and he is having a lot of fun too :)

I hope you have fun Friday night.

A Lovely Dinner

Well the first week of school is now over and everything is back into full swing.  My boys have done such a great job of starting the new year and I cannot believe that they are now in grades 6, 3 and sk. they are all just getting so big!!!

Last night I wanted to have a nice Sunday dinner with my guys, so I decided to make a batch of cabbage roll soup. It turned out really delicious and we have enough left overs for at least two more dinners!!!

Matthew loves to pile as much food as he can onto his crusty bread...lol

And Nathan decided to talk to us like this, we couldn't help but laugh which of course kept it going  all through dinner!!

Bobby trying to cross his eyes too...

While I was cooking dinner I stumbled upon a little surprize that my husband had forgotten to give me on my birthday. It was back in August and it was a wonderful day but I had received all my presents the day before, so he had bought a little something extra so I would have something to open on the day of. Well that was his intention...lol

A fun little gadget and beautiful card!! I love this little flash light. It will be perfect for my craft room or some extra light while reading late at night. The card is so pretty, it has been sitting on my counter and I have loved watching the sparkly dress all day :)

Well I hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by,
Cheryl

A Pretty Border Card

Now that it's summer my three boys are home and I am doing child care for two other boys - my house is a pretty busy place. I love summer but it seems to be just flying by...
I have not had as much time at my craft table as I would like but I've had a chance to play today!!

Watching this weeks "Make it Monday" challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do!!
I pulled out one of my favourite stamp set, Green Meadows from Papertrey Ink, some water colour paper and distress inks and had a lot of fun creating this card!!

I was all set to give my mother the Shaker and Sprinkles card that I made but now I am stumped whether she should get this one instead...lol

Yay for Shakers and Sprinkles!!!

My Papertrey Ink Shakers and Sprinkles kit finally arrived last Monday!!!! I have been waiting for this kit for 3-1/2 months...(I kid you not!!) It was my mother's day gift from my hubby :)
Even with the wait I would order it again in a heartbeat. I LOVE it!!! It is so pretty and cool all at the same time...lol :)

And a couple of small stamp sets to help qualify for the shipping discount :)

My 1st finished card!!!

I have been thinking of what other word dies are available so I can keep on using my kit for other kinds of cards. I have found some really pretty "love", "thanks" and "hello" dies that I am thinking of ordering.
I have also found that you can buy some acetate paper (clear paper) at Staples from their copy desk for $1 each. The quality is not as good but I can buy it locally and it looks nice, you really have to look hard or know what to look for to notice a difference.

The only little hiccup I had making my shaker card was when I opened a brand new bottle of tinsel glitter and dropped it all over myself! I was covered... it was in my shirt, all over me and my chair and the carpet under my desk!! I am still finding glitter a week later...lol
