Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the special ladies out there! I would like to take a moment to share with you some of the lovely surprises that I received today.  I am a mother to 3 wonderful little boys and I have loving husband, I always feel very blessed to have them in my life but on a day like today I am reminded of just how blessed I am.
This morning I came down stairs to find a gift bag and some cards waiting for me on the kitchen table.  This is what was inside…

My best friend also dropped off a card this afternoon, which was a wonderful surprise and also very touching :)

A quick journal entry about today

A Cool place to keep all my Mother's Day cards :)

I have been wanting a smash book for some time now and my husband got me one!!! I always thought that this would be a fun way to scrapbook about the fun everyday things that happen.  I also got the date stamp that goes with it  :)  I really love painting my nails so it was nice to receive a new nail polish… it is really really cool!!!

At our church this morning they handed out flowers to all the ladies, so my pretty flower will live on the kitchen table for the next little while.
We rounded out our Mother’s Day with a brunch with my mom, my sister and her two kids and my cousin his wife and their children. It was really nice being all together. My cousin  lives 4 hours away so I  was really happy he could make it!

Mother's Day Card Kit

Over the past couple of weeks we have been very busy! I have been sick for about 3 weeks and went to the doctor to find out that I had Bronchitis and Sinusitis  L I am beginning to feel better but we have had a lot of activities going on with our kids and also with ourselves!! We have just been on the run for about 2-3 weeks now!
With everything going on I have not had that much time to craft, but when I do I have been making a mini that I am going to give away as a gift.  This mini seems to be taking an eternity to make…lol  I think that is why I have always made more cards, I can finish them pretty quickly!!..lol
The reason for this post is to show you a Mother’s Day card kit that I made for the little Beavers in my group. I am a beaver (Scouts) leader and this week we are getting ready for Mother’s Day.  We have only 5 beavers this year but I know that one will be away tonight so I made four cards that the Beaver’s will put together tonight. We have a pretty full meeting so I made it as easy as possible. When they are done putting it together they can write mom a message on the inside J

The card is an A2 sized card and it has been embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The blue scallop is cut from Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge and the flower is from Flower Shoppe . The stamped sentiment from  a Impression Obsession stamp set Sentiments 1.
I think that it will be a great night tonight !

I hope that you are having a great day today J

A Wonderful Surprise!

Hi Everyone, I know it has been a while since my last post. Last week we-(my husband, my oldest son and myself), all came down with a bug :( It was an awful couple of days and it was even harder in that my two youngest did not get sick, and were just as rambunctious as ever...lol It was hard keeping them happy when I could not even get off the couch...let alone play with them and cook! That was the hardest part of all, preparing their food when I could not even look at food without being sick. I’m happy to say that everyone is better and my two little ones did not get sick :)
After all that I was lucky to receive a wonderful surprise.  It was a late Mother’s day gift from my sister. She said she has been working on it on and off for 5 years.  Isn’t it so beautiful....I was so moved, I love it :)

She did it all by hand; it is a counting cross stitch. I have made some myself but nothing this big! (I don’t have that much patients...lol)  And to finish it off she framed it, in a country like blue frame, which is my favourite colour :)

I also was busy making Mothers day gifts and I did make one for her. It was not as beautiful and half as special but I wanted to let her know that I was thinking of her too. We have both really been into painting our nails, and going into summer I thought that I would get her a fun colour to try out.

The bag and the tag on the back is from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cartridge. The flower is from the Forever Young Cartridge. I have inked the edges of the flower and layered them. The tag has been stamped with my sisters initial and that is from a Martha Stewart stamp set that I have.

To My Mother

I know that I have already made a "mom" card, but I felt inspired today to make one that was more on the pretty side. I had fun with last week’s card but I felt it was also more cute than pretty so that is why there are two!
I also remember being a kid and asking my mom if there was anything that she wanted for mother’s day, and her answer was always “I would like something pretty”
I hope that everyone has a nice Mother's Day,
Cheryl
