A Thankful For You Card

This time of year is just beautiful. The air is cooler, the leaves are changing and everything is so bright, vivid and beautiful. This weekend is Thanksgiving and it's one of my favourite times of the year.
I love making card for friends especially at thanksgiving, and this year I had a lot of fun creating this card:

Here is a video from my YouTube channel explaining and showing how I made this card:

Crazy For Unicorns!

Last month was my birthday and I received many crafty presents, one of them was a super cute unicorn stamp set from Simon Says Stamp!
I was excited to get this stamp set and today was the day I got some time in my craft room to use it. I coloured  several unicorns and wound up creating two cute cards with them.
Here is what I came up with:

Here are the supplies I used to create this card:

and the colours I used to colour everything in:

The second card I made was a lot of fun to make but caused me a lot of trouble!! I decided to make a shaker card and everything that could go wrong with this card did...lol
I forgot to stamp the front of the card before I assembled it and then once I did everything started to leak out!! I was able to fix it but I had to alter my sentiment and put it onto a banner across the front. All in all I love how it turned out:

and here is all the supplies I used to make this card:

I explained my process of how I created these cards over on my YouTube channel, so I thought I would share that video here too...

It's been a hot and rainy day here, I'm hoping that tomorrow is a little nicer outside although I did have a wonderful day hiding out in my craft room! Well until next time...

Pretty Roses

Well today's card was really fun to make. I pulled out one of my all time favourite stamp sets from Papertrey Ink and some pretty pink and green inks and got started.
This card was for my mom, last week was her birthday so I had a whole rose theme going on with her gift and a coordinating card. I got her some rose scented hand cream and soap and then some matching pink roses for her home. Making the card was just the icing on the cake as far is matching everything all together!!

The roses on the card was stamped using the Papertrey Ink "The Sweet Life" Stamp set and with some Simon says and Hero Arts inks.
The Happy was cut out with my Silhouette and the Elegance font. I cut it out three times and then layered them on top of each other for some depth. I then covered the "Happy" with some clear Wink of Stella.  The birthday was stamped
with a stamp from a My Pink Stamper set Birthday Crazy.  To balance out the card I used some Antique Linen Distress Ink on the top left and bottom right corners  :)

Craft Room Updates

Well it has been hot hot hot over the past couple weeks and I haven't had a lot of time to craft but I did have some time to do some craft room reorganizing :).
My craft room organizing was nothing big but I did reorganize a closet in the back of my room that was full of clothes and boxes from our move from four years ago which I finally pulled  apart and dealt with.  It turns out that most of the stuff in the closet was able to be donated which freed up a lot of room for me and  my craft stuff...lol
There were some boxes that did remain so I stacked them on the left side of the closet which freed up the remaining middle and right side!  We had a broken shelf in the garage which was going to go to the dump, so I brought it in and fixed it. Now it is sitting in my closet holding a lot of the stuff which was jammed in amongst everything else in that overstuffed closet .  I wish I had a before picture but I do you have an after picture, I have just been in love with how the closet has turned out!!

Another area of my craft room that changed last week was my cubed shelving. It previously held our printer on the top of it which has now been relocated my husband's portion of the downstairs, which has left it free for me to pull out my beloved Cricut machine.

Over the past two years it had been on a shelf and was really difficult to use but now that it's out and ready,  I can't wait to get using it once again.  I also took some time and rearrange two shelves so I could reorganize all of my Cricut cartridges in a way that I can see them and have them ready and on hand :)

One great final edition has been this car air freshener from Bath & Body Works. I really love all their candles, hand creams, soaps and well just about everything...lol.  I went there looking for a small candle for in my space but I have always been very cautious about candles so I was really happy when I stumbled upon this cute little thing:

It smells just wonderful! Our whole basement smells just like Sweet Pea... It smells just like the candle without any of the danger ;) (I'm just really worried that I'll forget to blow a candle out)

A Pretty Watercolour Card & Box

Hello summer!! We have three days left until my boys are done school and we all can hardly wait. Our family has been so busy lately and it will be so nice to just to slow down and enjoy time outside with friends and family.

I haven't had a lot of time over the last little while to craft a lot but last week I made the time to create a birthday card and matching treat box for a sweet lady from our church.
I wanted to create something with watercolour that would be bright and cheerful and this is what I came up with:

I really loved pulling out some of my old favourite stamp sets to use in making this card, it has inspired me to use them again soon :)

I hope you have a great weekend!

Masculine Monday: Happy Birthday Cool Dude!!

Hello and hope you have had a wonderful Monday! We had a busy weekend with our first baseball practice of the season so today has been long, I've been a bit sore but it's been good!! lol
I did get some time in my craft room and I had the pleasure of making another card for my Masculine Monday series.
I saw some cute sunglasses int the Silhouette store a while ago and I thought that they would be perfect for a masculine card!!

Here is what I came up with:

Here is the video I made for my YouTube channel describing the process of making this card:

We've had a chilly start to the week here but at least there was no snow...lol. Well not yet!!

A Cute Unicorn Card

It's cold and miserable outside so I decided to stay inside and craft!!! lol Well it's April 8th and it has been snowing all week. We have gotten a ton of snow over the last couple of days. The silver lining in this is that it has not stuck around. Everything melts away once the sun comes out :)

With all the darkness outside I wanted to create something bright and cheerful, so I started with a cute unicorn cut that I found in the silhouette store.
Lately (well I guess always...lol) I have loved all things cute, bright and cheerful and unicorns defiantly fall into that category!

In today's card I started off by cutting out and creating this cute little unicorn, then I thought that it would look great on a square card. Once I found the scallop square, everything came together very nicely. I love the soft whimsical colour added to the card by the watercolour background and then with my hello sentiment and a couple of sequences the card was completed :)

I made a video for my YouTube channel describing how I made this cute card, so I thought that I would share it here too :)

I hope you have a great weekend and

My First Card For 2016

Hello 2016, I hope everyone has had a wonderful holidays and a very happy New Years :)
The holidays turned out to be a very busy period of time. It doesn't seem to matter how much I pre-plan or how many lists I make, things always pop up and there seems to be a few things that I have overlooked...lol

It took a couple of weeks but I now seem to have my house and craft room back in order. Finally last week I had some time to myself in my craft room so I decided to get crafty!!

I have thought of some crafty things that I would like to accomplish this year and one of them is to have some male orientated birthday cards ready and on hand!
I have three school aged boys and and a lot of male family members so it would be nice to have a stock pile of birthday cards (for all the parties...lol)  and encouragement and thinking of you cards that are ready to go!

With that being said I have decided to create a new series on my YouTube channel called Masculine Mondays. This new series will be devoted to creating male oriented cards or projects, which I will post on Mondays.

Today was my first card in this new series and it was inspired by a font I purchased from the Silhouette design store.  The font is In A Galaxy Far Far Away and it's design #111259.

Here is the card I created:

To find out how I made this card or to see what supplies I used here is a video I posted to my YouTube channel:

This card was a lot of fun to make and the moment my oldest son saw it he told me it was the best card I have ever created!! So far it's a hit!! It was so simple to make that I plan on mass producing it to have lots on hand :)

I hope to be posting on a more regular bases, so if there's anything you'd love to see just let me know :)
