One Snowflake 3 Cards

Well it's been a couple of weeks now since Christmas and I thought that it would be nice to send out some thank you notes to our family for their wonderful gifts that our boys received this Christmas.

I have always liked the 'thank you Snow much' sentiment and I love snowflakes too so I thought that I would make some pretty cards this year.

I recently got a new Cricut machine and I thought it would be nice to use the Cricut markers for the sentiments and an image from the Winter Lace Cricut cartridge. I used one snowflake image for all three cards.

I also decided to use my Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder on one of the cards for snowflakes overload...lol

The snow globe was cut from a PaperTrey Ink die. The label tied to it with the sentiment is from the Cricut Forever Young cartridge and the background stamp on the small square card is the wood grain background stamp from MFT.  It was inked up with the SSS Dark Chocolate ink.

The backgrounds were created with some distress inks, Broken China, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch and a mini distress blending tool.

Now for the hard part, to get my boys to fill them out and get them into the mail!!

Pretty Roses

Well today's card was really fun to make. I pulled out one of my all time favourite stamp sets from Papertrey Ink and some pretty pink and green inks and got started.
This card was for my mom, last week was her birthday so I had a whole rose theme going on with her gift and a coordinating card. I got her some rose scented hand cream and soap and then some matching pink roses for her home. Making the card was just the icing on the cake as far is matching everything all together!!

The roses on the card was stamped using the Papertrey Ink "The Sweet Life" Stamp set and with some Simon says and Hero Arts inks.
The Happy was cut out with my Silhouette and the Elegance font. I cut it out three times and then layered them on top of each other for some depth. I then covered the "Happy" with some clear Wink of Stella.  The birthday was stamped
with a stamp from a My Pink Stamper set Birthday Crazy.  To balance out the card I used some Antique Linen Distress Ink on the top left and bottom right corners  :)

Cards for the I Care Card Ministry

A couple of week ago I received a message from Janita Taylor asking if I would like to apart of her church's card ministry. I loved the idea of this, it is something that I have wanted to do for a while and was very excited to participate in this new ministry.
She has a video on her YouTube channel sharing all the details of her ministry that you check out here if you would like :)

Here are the cards that I have created:

The first five cards are made  using the  Meadow Greens Papertrey Ink stamp. I have used Simon Says Stamp ink to stamp the flowers and leaves and Distress ink around the edge of the card. The sentiments are from a Scrappy Moms, Impression Obsession and the Meadow Greens stamp sets.

The next three cards are made using the Sweet Life stamp set from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is from the Think Big Favorites #3. The flowers are stamped with Simon Says Stamp ink and I used Memento Tuxedo black ink for the sentiment.

This last fun card is made using the Lawn Fawn, Flying By stamp set and the Hero Arts stamp set The Sky's The Limit for the clouds. The clouds are stamped with Simons Says Stamp ink and the air planes and the sentiment are stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink.

I hope the cards arrive safely and quickly and if you have any questions about this ministry please see Janita Taylor's video for more information. (the link for the video is above)

A Fun Sketch Card

This week I went through all my stamps that I have and decided to pull out some of my old favourites to make a cute card for my niece. I had fun going through all that I have and seeing all my old stamps, it really makes me appreciate having  all of them!!

I decided to use two stamp sets from Papertrey ink, Heart to Heart #6 and Think Big Favorites #15 for my card .
I am participating the in the Make It Monday challenge: Doodling With Stamps on the Papertrey ink blog Capture the Moment. I stamped out all the images for the card including the sun cut from a coordinating die and then traced around the outer edges with a pencil to create the doodled look for the card.

Here is the card I created:

This technique was a lot of fun to try and I think that the card turned out so cute, I will be trying this again for sure!!

A Personalized Stationery Gift Set

Hello and happy Friday :) It has been a very busy day here today, my boys have had a PA day today and we have a friend over all day.

Tonight we are visiting with a very good friend Becky, my sister Ruth, niece and nephew. Becky's birthday is January 1st and today is the first time I am seeing her since her birthday. I wanted to make something special for her so I decided to make her some personalized stationery.

This the note card that I made, it is a set of 6 cards with co-coordinating envelopes:

Here is a video that I made for my YouTube channel thecraftnut32 with a quick explanation of how I made this sweet stationery set:

In My Cozy Craft Room

Today was such a cold day outside, so I spent this morning nice and cozy in my craft room!!
My craft room is not really a room but a corner in our basement. It's nice not having a room because I can still see what our boys are up to when they are home and I feel like crafting and also because we have a fire place down there too! So this morning I turned on some music, started the fireplace (and some laundry...lol) and had a nice morning crafting :)

Today was another productive day of crafting...lol Yesterday I finished my cousins Christmas mini album and today I decorated the cover. It is nothing elaborate but I am really happy with how it turned out. It is something that I had mapped out in my head forever, so now that it is done and looks good I feel pleased. It looks as good in person as it did in my head...lol

Here is it is :

I used my Silhouette and some glitter paper from Michael's to cut out the 2014 and a Papertrey Ink die for the little snowflakes. In the center of the snowflake I added some little bling to add some extra sparkle :)

Once I was done with the Christmas mini I started on some of my Valentine's for this year. I used the Papertrey Ink Shakers dies to create and fill these really cute shaker hearts...

I am going to make some cards with these shakers hopefully sometime this week, so stay tuned for that...lol

Ho Ho Ho - Santa Card!!

Last night Mike and I spent a good part of our evening filling out our Christmas Cards and addressing all the envelopes. I dropped off  all of the cards at the post office this morning and I am happy to say they are on their way to our friends and family!! :)

This is one of the Christmas cards that I mass produced this year, it was a lot of fun to make and I think that Santa is so cute...lol
I posted a video to my YouTube channel describing the process of how I made it, so I thought that I would share it here too:

I Hope that you had a great Monday, I feel like this week will be really busy with 5 days of school left for my boys until their Christmas break. I was out running errands today with a good friend and felt like I got  lot accomplished (Yay!!), which was a great start to my week...lol

Let It Snow....

Today I am participating in the Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop Challenge. This was a fun challenge and one that I just loved!!!
When I saw the inspiration photos and watched that cute video I knew what exactly what I was going to create :)

Here are the pictures:

Here is what I came up with:

I used the Papertrey Ink O'Tannenbaum stamp set for this card. The background trees were stamped with some Simon Says Stamp inks, Khaki and Dark Chocolate. The Christmas trees were stamped with some Color Box Frost White ink and then I heat embossed the tree with some Star Dust embossing powder. The edge and the star I stamped with some Color box silver ink and then embossed it with some silver embossing powder.
I used the Let it Snow stamp set from Lawn Fawn for the falling snow and then layered some snowflakes cut from the globe shaker die from PTI over top to give it some depth.
To finish it off I added some bling to the snowflakes because this card needed some more sparkle...lol :)

My First Christmas Card for 2014

I am really getting excited about Christmas, I have been listening to Christmas music for a little while now and I have begun to pull out a couple of our decorations!

Over the past couple of weeks I have been thinking of Christmas card layouts and Sunday I had the chance to spend some time at my desk creating them!! I made two Christmas cards on Sunday and yesterday and today I edited the video for the first card I made :)

Here is the video that I shared on my YouTube channel:

If you have the chance to watch my video, I would love to know what you think of my voice over/new format of my videos. The beginning was a little rushed but the rest I thought went ok... If you could leave a comment in the comment section below that would be great!

I am really happy with how this card turned out and I really love that Hero Arts background stamp!!! I have some more cards in mind for that background stamp coming soon :)

Cute Rainbow and Sunshine Cards

Last Thursday I was sitting at my desk looking at the rainbow card I had made using my new Hero Arts stamp set "The Sky's the Limit" and I started thinking about all the cute cards I could make using the fun clouds that came in that stamp set.
I started pulling out stamp sets with cute and fun images and I decided to use one of my favourites from PaperTrey Ink,  Heart-to-Heart #6.

Here is a video I posted to my YouTube Channel last night sharing the process of how I created my latest card:

The inside :)

I loved the little yellow hearts so much I decided to embellish my first card with them too:

Every once and a while my boys love coming down into my craft room to create something fun. Today was that kind of day for Bobby.
About two weeks ago he had the flu and missed some fun Halloween activities and a costume party. On of his good friends dropped off some cupcakes for him from his party, so Bobby wanted to make him a thank you card!!

I cut this little cupcake from my Straight From the Nest Cricut cartridge, I cut out the blue and the white paper and then he did everything else!
The sentiment is stamped from the Sweetest Cupcake stamp set from My Pink Stamper and to finish everything of he chose to pop up the cupcake with some foam dots!!

Well I hope that you are having a happy Monday...

Cheryl
