A Festive Evening

Today was another busy but fun day. Matthew, my oldest son had his youth group's Christmas dinner at church tonight. He has been really excited about tonight and had been planning everything out all week...lol
He had asked me to make a card for his youth group leader and a Santa Chocolate bar.
Here is what I made:

For the Santa bar I used my Cricut for the little buckle, everything else was cut with a punch, my paper cutter or ripped against a ruler. I used some wink of Stella on the black buttons for some extra shine :)

For the card I used my Distress Inks to create the background, the Santa and the houses were cut using  my Cricut. I used the Christmas cartridge for the Santa's sled and the Winter woodland cartridge for the houses. I layered some white paper that I ripped along a curvy ruler to create the snowy layers, some silver Color Box ink and a star stamp to finish off the card!

Ho Ho Ho - Santa Card!!

Last night Mike and I spent a good part of our evening filling out our Christmas Cards and addressing all the envelopes. I dropped off  all of the cards at the post office this morning and I am happy to say they are on their way to our friends and family!! :)

This is one of the Christmas cards that I mass produced this year, it was a lot of fun to make and I think that Santa is so cute...lol
I posted a video to my YouTube channel describing the process of how I made it, so I thought that I would share it here too:

I Hope that you had a great Monday, I feel like this week will be really busy with 5 days of school left for my boys until their Christmas break. I was out running errands today with a good friend and felt like I got  lot accomplished (Yay!!), which was a great start to my week...lol

The Cards are Ready to Mail!!!

Last night Mike and I were realizing that if we are going to mail out our Christmas card this year we need to get them done and ready to mail out... soon :)
So tonight we sat and watched a show on T.V and got everything ready to go out in the mail in the morning. If we had planned ahead we should have already bought our stamps so we could have dropped them in the mail box down the road tonight...lol

This weekend I had some time at my craft table and I was able to finally finish my December Daily!!! All I have to do now is put it all together and fill it up with the pictures and write the little journal for each day. I am happy with how it turned out but I think next year I will plan to do something a little easier...lol

I have my pictures ready and organized so I think that I will print all my pictures that I have taken so far.

Working On My December Daily...

This week has just flown by... It is hard to believe that we are going into our second week of December already!!!
We spent yesterday afternoon decorating our tree and our house and then last night our church had it's annual Christmas concert that we went to and now.... it's starting to feel a lot like Christmas....lol
All we need now is some snow!!

Over the last few weeks I have been working on making my first December Daily. If you're not familiar with what this is, it is a scrapbook with at least one picture for every day in December.
I'm just about done making it and I have taken all my pictures and organized them into a folder in my pictures. I thought this would make it much easer when it is time to send them off to be developed. It would save me the time of going through everything and trying to remember which picture was for my December Daily.

I think that I would have been done making it by now but as soon as I was ready to put everything together I changed my mind on how I was going to number each day!!!
At first I was going to have cute little candies, snowflakes, banners and scalloped circles for the number of  day but as I made my first page I realized that it was just to big. The numbers were also to big to fit inside for the double digit day and it was going to be in the way of my journaling tag. :(
I have since gone with a much simpler number design and have decided to use lots of embellishments on each page instead.

I used a Kraft cardstock for the background and a black number and I really like how clean and simple it is :)

Today I had a fun crafty moment with my youngest son Nathan. He went to a birthday party this afternoon and before he went we made his friend a birthday card.

We personalized the inside of the card and the envelope, for the front I cut out this cute little doggie from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and then embossed the blue background paper and the back of the envelope with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing folder. The paw print and the sentiment are from the My Pink Stamper Even More Punny-licious stamp set. I cut everything out and Nathan helped with the rest!! It was a lot of fun!!

I hope that you have had a great weekend!!!!

Christmas Ornaments Kits

Tomorrow night is Kids Club night at our church and I am a leader of the older girls group. Our group loves crafting.  Anything with glitter, glue, paper, painting and ink our group loves to do it!!
With Christmas right around the corner, I have been planning lots of fun crafts and tomorrow's craft is one of my favourites!!
I was inspired by the Papertrey Ink Christmas tag kit for this week's craft. We are going to make some ornaments with a cute Christmas scene inside.
I used my Gypsy and Cricut to cut out the little scene for the inside of these ornaments. I organized one Ziploc bag for each girl with all the cut out pieces and the ornament, I am determined not to lose anything...lol

I will try to post a finished ornament tomorrow night!!!

Let It Snow....

Today I am participating in the Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop Challenge. This was a fun challenge and one that I just loved!!!
When I saw the inspiration photos and watched that cute video I knew what exactly what I was going to create :)

Here are the pictures:

Here is what I came up with:

I used the Papertrey Ink O'Tannenbaum stamp set for this card. The background trees were stamped with some Simon Says Stamp inks, Khaki and Dark Chocolate. The Christmas trees were stamped with some Color Box Frost White ink and then I heat embossed the tree with some Star Dust embossing powder. The edge and the star I stamped with some Color box silver ink and then embossed it with some silver embossing powder.
I used the Let it Snow stamp set from Lawn Fawn for the falling snow and then layered some snowflakes cut from the globe shaker die from PTI over top to give it some depth.
To finish it off I added some bling to the snowflakes because this card needed some more sparkle...lol :)

The Critters are ready for Christmas!!

This has been one quiet weekend here for us. I came down with the flu on Thursday afternoon and most of Friday was spent on the couch asleep.
I was feeling better yesterday and today, but not great so I spent a lot of time at my craft desk creating Christmas cards!!
I have filmed a couple of videos for my YouTube channel and will have them up hopefully sometime this week.
I have been thinking over the idea of having a 12 days of Christmas the first 12 days of December, so if I do I think that I will save these videos for then.

As I was cleaning up my craft room for the day I thought that these half assembled Santa's looked kinda funny. I had been cutting them out with my Cricut and then creating piles of the colours so I could assemble them as they're cut.
I haven't cut out the white yet and I think that the pink I cut is just too pink...lol. I might head out to Michael's tomorrow and buy a new pack of pink with a lighter shade of pink in it!!!

As Christmas gets closer I love to decorate the house a little bit at a time. I love watching my boys as they spot the new decoration, their reactions are just priceless!!!
When my mom was here back in October we went to Pier One and I found these two cute little critters, so of course they needed to get ready for Christmas too!!!

Sorry for the messy bench, we have an abundance of hats and mitts
at the moment with the cold weather that came this week!!!

I hope you had a great weekend

Christmas Fun!

Yesterday I had a great day of crafting!!!  I was determined to make a 3D globe ornament / tag and with the use of my Cricut Gypsy and a lot of trails I was able to make one that I was happy with!!

Having finished a couple I went to bed last night thinking up more designs I could create in the little ornament!! I felt every excited and think I will be at it again tomorrow :)

I was out at Michael's today (getting more ornaments...lol) and I was happy to find this Advent calendar Christmas tree.

I saw them there last year and hummed and hawed, when I had decided to get it they had all sold out. So when I saw them in stock today I grabbed one and I'm very happy to say at 50% off!!!
I am going to paint it and decorate it over the next couple of days and then to head out to the Bulk Barn for my festive candies :)

It is a wintery wonderland outside here tonight, which will be a perfect reason to stay home and craft!!!
I hope you have a great night :)

My First Christmas Card for 2014

I am really getting excited about Christmas, I have been listening to Christmas music for a little while now and I have begun to pull out a couple of our decorations!

Over the past couple of weeks I have been thinking of Christmas card layouts and Sunday I had the chance to spend some time at my desk creating them!! I made two Christmas cards on Sunday and yesterday and today I edited the video for the first card I made :)

Here is the video that I shared on my YouTube channel:

If you have the chance to watch my video, I would love to know what you think of my voice over/new format of my videos. The beginning was a little rushed but the rest I thought went ok... If you could leave a comment in the comment section below that would be great!

I am really happy with how this card turned out and I really love that Hero Arts background stamp!!! I have some more cards in mind for that background stamp coming soon :)

Cute Rainbow and Sunshine Cards

Last Thursday I was sitting at my desk looking at the rainbow card I had made using my new Hero Arts stamp set "The Sky's the Limit" and I started thinking about all the cute cards I could make using the fun clouds that came in that stamp set.
I started pulling out stamp sets with cute and fun images and I decided to use one of my favourites from PaperTrey Ink,  Heart-to-Heart #6.

Here is a video I posted to my YouTube Channel last night sharing the process of how I created my latest card:

The inside :)

I loved the little yellow hearts so much I decided to embellish my first card with them too:

Every once and a while my boys love coming down into my craft room to create something fun. Today was that kind of day for Bobby.
About two weeks ago he had the flu and missed some fun Halloween activities and a costume party. On of his good friends dropped off some cupcakes for him from his party, so Bobby wanted to make him a thank you card!!

I cut this little cupcake from my Straight From the Nest Cricut cartridge, I cut out the blue and the white paper and then he did everything else!
The sentiment is stamped from the Sweetest Cupcake stamp set from My Pink Stamper and to finish everything of he chose to pop up the cupcake with some foam dots!!

Well I hope that you are having a happy Monday...

I Love my Sparkly Paper!!!

Happy Monday and Happy November!!! Can you believe that it's  November already??? Time is just flying by and we are getting so close to Christmas!!! My favourite time of year :)

This past week I did not have that much time to craft, last Monday was the only time all week I was in my craft room. Both Bobby and Nathan had the flu so my week was pretty busy taking care of them.
One afternoon when Nathan was feeling better we were out running errands together and I had the chance to pop into Michael's to use my 50% off coupon!! It was really nice having him with me, I have really missed him since he has started kindergarten.
I got a Recollections anti static bag for heat embossing and some really pretty sparkly paper for some Christmas cards I plan on making. I really love the sparkly paper.... I just love anything with sparkles and I look for the chance to use sprinkles or add sprinkles to everything I do...lol

I picked up two of these sparkly pages and I wished I had gotten some more.... I think that I will head back sometime this week and get some more. :)

Nathan had ripped open the package excited for me to use it, so I think that I'll store it in this Ziploc bag,

I was sitting here enjoying this beautiful evening sky so I thought that I would grab my camera and share it you...

This is my favourite time of day, watching the sky change from day to night...it's just so beautiful!!!

A Cute Card

Hello and Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend, for me  it was a fun weekend full of murder and mystery...lol
A good friend of mine hosted a murder mystery night.  Mike and I went as Princess Rapunzel and  Hantzel. We were characters from the enchanted kingdom and we were at a ball hosted by Prince Charming to hear him announce his intended bride. The evening took a turn when Snow White the chosen princesses dropped dead... murdered!!! lol
The evening was a lot f fun and by the end of the evening we had figured out who had committed the horrific act...lol
Here is Mike and I all dressed up for the ball:

Last week I shared a small haul I bought from my local scrapbook store, and one of the new stamp sets that I got that day was a Hero Arts set called "The Sky's the Limit"
Today I had the chance to pull it out and create a card with and this is what I made:

I used some Simon Says Stamp ink for the clouds, Sea Glass and Surf  blue. The rainbow was coloured in using my Spectrum Noir markers and then I fussy cut it out and popped it up with some pop dots.
The sentiment is from that stamp set too.

I love how this card turned out and I have several more ideas in mind for this stamp set!! I hope that you're having a great Monday...

A Small Haul and a Kids Craft

Today I decided to stop by my local scrapbook store to find out they are going out of business.  I feel so sad because that will only leave Michael's left for crafty shopping. :(

While I was there, I decided to buy some things and stock up on others (12x12 chipboard), with the scrapbook store closing, I thought I should get some while I could...lol

Here's what I got:

I was really excited to get this Hero Arts stamp set 'Sky's the Limit." I broke it out and used it this afternoon.
Tomorrow at Kidz Club at out church, we are learning about Noah's obedience to God. For our craft it was suggested we use a rainbow somewhere in our craft so I decided to make a bookmark that the girls could decorate, using the rainbow from my new stamp set. I know that they have a lot of reading to do from school, so I thought that this would be a craft that would be really useful as well :)

I made the bookmark with a tag cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 Cricut cartridge and elongated the tag using my Gypsy. The rainbow is from my new stamp set Sky's the Limit and the little stars are from a Papertrey Ink stamp set O'Tannenbaum.
The wool will be for the tassel at the top :)

I just thought I would share this cute picture of my dog Marlie, she decided to follow the sun around all afternoon. By this point she was not looking so comfortable...lol

I hope you have a great night!!
