A Cute Card

Hello and Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend, for me  it was a fun weekend full of murder and mystery...lol
A good friend of mine hosted a murder mystery night.  Mike and I went as Princess Rapunzel and  Hantzel. We were characters from the enchanted kingdom and we were at a ball hosted by Prince Charming to hear him announce his intended bride. The evening took a turn when Snow White the chosen princesses dropped dead... murdered!!! lol
The evening was a lot f fun and by the end of the evening we had figured out who had committed the horrific act...lol
Here is Mike and I all dressed up for the ball:

Last week I shared a small haul I bought from my local scrapbook store, and one of the new stamp sets that I got that day was a Hero Arts set called "The Sky's the Limit"
Today I had the chance to pull it out and create a card with and this is what I made:

I used some Simon Says Stamp ink for the clouds, Sea Glass and Surf  blue. The rainbow was coloured in using my Spectrum Noir markers and then I fussy cut it out and popped it up with some pop dots.
The sentiment is from that stamp set too.

I love how this card turned out and I have several more ideas in mind for this stamp set!! I hope that you're having a great Monday...

A Small Haul and a Kids Craft

Today I decided to stop by my local scrapbook store to find out they are going out of business.  I feel so sad because that will only leave Michael's left for crafty shopping. :(

While I was there, I decided to buy some things and stock up on others (12x12 chipboard), with the scrapbook store closing, I thought I should get some while I could...lol

Here's what I got:

I was really excited to get this Hero Arts stamp set 'Sky's the Limit." I broke it out and used it this afternoon.
Tomorrow at Kidz Club at out church, we are learning about Noah's obedience to God. For our craft it was suggested we use a rainbow somewhere in our craft so I decided to make a bookmark that the girls could decorate, using the rainbow from my new stamp set. I know that they have a lot of reading to do from school, so I thought that this would be a craft that would be really useful as well :)

I made the bookmark with a tag cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 Cricut cartridge and elongated the tag using my Gypsy. The rainbow is from my new stamp set Sky's the Limit and the little stars are from a Papertrey Ink stamp set O'Tannenbaum.
The wool will be for the tassel at the top :)

I just thought I would share this cute picture of my dog Marlie, she decided to follow the sun around all afternoon. By this point she was not looking so comfortable...lol

I hope you have a great night!!

A Fun Fall Week

This post is going to be more like a week in review post, with this week being a short week, it seemed to fly by...lol
Now with Thanksgiving over we are into the long haul until Christmas, which I always really look forward to! I have my Christmas countdown app going on my phone and I just love checking it with the boys every morning. While I am writing this post, there are 66 days, 8 hours, 52 min and 27 seconds until the big day!!!!

Before I get carried away with Christmas I have been enjoying all the fun and beautiful things fall has to offer. We went apple picking two weeks ago and this week we had some fun playing in all the leaves. Everything outside is so pretty and I have been really enjoying all the beautiful colours of the season.

Here are some pictures of some backyard fall fun:

Nathan has decided to use our little lawn mower and a hockey stick as a rake..lol
and then what's the point of raking without jumping in them after they are all gathered :)

and of course the dog needs her turn...lol

So we wouldn't miss where his pile is for next time...it is was well marked...
I thought that was the cutest thing!!!

Bobby made this bird house back in the spring and I have enjoyed having it in our tree all summer, I find the brightness of it really cheerful. I have also really enjoyed having it there this fall, it has been such a beautiful contrast to the fall leaves:

Mid week I did have some time in my craft room and I was very happy to finally break open my new stamps from Papertrey Ink!! I have been waiting until I finished up with all my fall time cards before I moved into my Christmas crafting.
I have decided to skip making Halloween cards this year and move onto Christmas Cards.  Now that I have moved onto Christmas, it feels like I am cheating on Halloween a little...lol (I think that I will make some fun little goodie bags for the girls in my church group and for our little neighbours too!)

The first stamp set that I pulled out and used was the O'Tannenbaum stamp set. I just love this stamp set and it was a lot of fun to use. I love stamp sets with a lot of layering, and this set is perfect for that!!
I have a lot of ideas for these stamps and here is some pictures of the first card I made:

I decided to keep this card pretty clean and simple. I stamped all the layers to the card, the sentiment and then some extra gold stars around the tree. For some little sparkle I added some clear Wink of Stella to the red ordainments. I distressed the edges of the paper with a distress tool and mounted the card from onto a Kraft colour top folding card.
I love how it turned out, and how the gold shines and the glitter catches your eye at the right angle :)

While I have been sitting here writing this post, Nathan was at the table finishing up his craft from church this morning.  He was really into it, and wanted me " to cheese him" (take his picture) for my blog...lol

The rainbow is coloured with his Mr. Sketch smelly markers "so it will smell beautiful" for me and he knows how much I love glitter so the cloud is super sparkly...lol

I hope you had a wonderful week too.

A Boy's Birthday Card

Last month during Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp I received some birthday balloon dies when I placed my order and today I had a chance to finally pull them out and use them!!!!
It is my nephew's 12th birthday, I wanted to make him a card that he would appreciate, nothing baby or little kiddish...lol Creating male cards is always a bit of a challenge so I thought that using these balloon dies would be perfect!

Here is the YouTube I made describing my card:

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and to all my fellow Canadians I hope you have a very
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fall Cards

Today I finished the last of my fall time cards. I have had fun creating these fall cards this year, for each card that I shared I made two of them to send off to different family and friends.
I have some of them in the mail already but I still have many more to fill out and send off which I am hoping to do tonight :)

Here is my YouTube video of my final card:

This week has been full of fall card making... I am a leader of a girls group in my church and this week we also made some fall/ Thanksgiving cards. Each girl made two cards, this way they could write letters for two special people in their lives and tell them how they were thankful for them.

Here are the "kits" I prepared for them:

The turkey, pumpkin, and speech bubble are all cut from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. The leaves are cut from the Doodle Charm and the Flower Shop cartridge. The pretty label was cut with a Papertrey Ink label die and finally the kraft paper was embossed with the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots.
The stamped sentiments are from the Simon Says Stamp set Lots of Thanks and the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is stamped with a My Pink Stamper stamp from the Happiest Moments stamp set.

One of the only non fall/Thanksgiving card I made this week was for my niece. I have been dying to make her a shaker card ever since I received my Papertrey Ink shaker kit and then Sparkle and Shine stamp set.

I feel like I am addicted to making shaker cards...lol I cannot begin express how much I love this kit, I have had so much fun creating all these shaker cards :)

Fall Time Fun

Happy October!! Time is just flying by, I cannot believe that that today is already October 6th and we are well into this new month.

I have been having a lot of fun over the last couple of week creating some fall time cards and this weekend I finally got some time to edit a video for a fall shaker card that I made almost two weeks ago. I filmed it while I was making it and haven't had the chance to edit it until Saturday morning and then I uploaded it to my YouTube channel, so I thought that I would share it here too:

I love how this card turned out and I'm happy that it's finally in the mail on it's way to it's recipient :)

This weekend was a lot of fun, Saturday was pretty quiet, my husband was at a memorial baseball tournament all day but Sunday was pretty busy.
After church we went to Costco for a quick shop and lunch where my husband picked up these beautiful flowers for me:

We then went apple picking and as we were driving out to the apple orchard it started to rain, so we were not there very long...lol
My youngest son I were there on Wednesday with his class and here he is with his apples from that day:

I hope you have a happy Monday!!!

Cheryl
