My Garden Cake

I had a lot of fun this week creating my garden cake. There were a lot of components to the cake which all had their own time lines...but once they were all done, it was a lot of fun putting it all together :)
This cake was made for a garden themed bridal shower.

Here is a video describing the cake:

I hope you have a great weekend :)

Chilli Cook Off

A couple of weeks ago our church had a chilli cook off and my friend’s husband won! I wanted to send him a unique congratulations card....

The pot is from From My Kitchen cartridge. I cut out two and then cut them at the lid. The bottom half is glued together around the edge and the top is glued together with a piece of white card stock attached in-between . The edges of the white card stock has been inked with blue ink and the stamp is from Martha Stewart.
The White star has been covered in glitter, which I know is not very masculine....but I can’t resist glitter... lol

Get well Soon

My brother in law had strep throat last week and then my niece developed it too :(  My niece is almost 7 and the only girl in our family, so I thought that I would make her a cute little get well soon card.

The little lady bug is cut at 3 inches and is from Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, as are the clouds. The clouds have glitter from Studio G covering them, and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.
The back ground paper is a Tim Coffey Designer  Mat Pad from K&Company. The card is an A2 size card and the mat piece is just shy of that.

I hope that my sister’s family is soon back to full heath!

Some Tags

Over the last little while I have been working on tags, which is new for me. Normally I have stuck to cards, lo and mini’s. I know that it is not much different but it is new and exciting to me :)
Here is the first one I made:

And here is the second:

To see how I made these tags here is a video :

A Wonderful Surprise!

Hi Everyone, I know it has been a while since my last post. Last week we-(my husband, my oldest son and myself), all came down with a bug :( It was an awful couple of days and it was even harder in that my two youngest did not get sick, and were just as rambunctious as ever...lol It was hard keeping them happy when I could not even get off the couch...let alone play with them and cook! That was the hardest part of all, preparing their food when I could not even look at food without being sick. I’m happy to say that everyone is better and my two little ones did not get sick :)
After all that I was lucky to receive a wonderful surprise.  It was a late Mother’s day gift from my sister. She said she has been working on it on and off for 5 years.  Isn’t it so beautiful....I was so moved, I love it :)

She did it all by hand; it is a counting cross stitch. I have made some myself but nothing this big! (I don’t have that much patients...lol)  And to finish it off she framed it, in a country like blue frame, which is my favourite colour :)

I also was busy making Mothers day gifts and I did make one for her. It was not as beautiful and half as special but I wanted to let her know that I was thinking of her too. We have both really been into painting our nails, and going into summer I thought that I would get her a fun colour to try out.

The bag and the tag on the back is from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cartridge. The flower is from the Forever Young Cartridge. I have inked the edges of the flower and layered them. The tag has been stamped with my sisters initial and that is from a Martha Stewart stamp set that I have.

To My Mother

I know that I have already made a "mom" card, but I felt inspired today to make one that was more on the pretty side. I had fun with last week’s card but I felt it was also more cute than pretty so that is why there are two!
I also remember being a kid and asking my mom if there was anything that she wanted for mother’s day, and her answer was always “I would like something pretty”
I hope that everyone has a nice Mother's Day,
Cheryl
