Well it's been a couple of weeks now since Christmas and I thought that it would be nice to send out some thank you notes to our family for their wonderful gifts that our boys received this Christmas. I have always liked the 'thank you Snow much' sentiment and I love snowflakes too so I thought that I would make some pretty cards this year. I recently got a new Cricut machine and I thought it would be nice to use the Cricut markers for the sentiments and an image from the Winter Lace Cricut cartridge. I used one snowflake image for all three cards. I also decided to use my Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder on one of the cards for snowflakes overload...lol
The snow globe was cut from a PaperTrey Ink die. The label tied to it with the sentiment is from the Cricut Forever Young cartridge and the background stamp on the small square card is the wood grain background stamp from MFT. It was inked up with the SSS Dark Chocolate ink.
The backgrounds were created with some distress inks, Broken China, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch and a mini distress blending tool.
Now for the hard part, to get my boys to fill them out and get them into the mail!!
Hello!! Today I am here with something very exciting. I have been working on something fun over the last couple of weeks and I am pleased to share with you my Kids Card Kit :) This kit is designed for your children to do with you or independently, depending on their age. This is something fun for all those who love to craft!! Each kit will contain all the pieces required to make the cards in the pictures plus envelopes so that the cards can be mailed or given to someone special. Please feel free to change up the cards any way you feel like. The pictures are just an example of how the cards can go together, add anything you may have at home to the cards or alter the pieces anyway you like :). Hello, just a quick post for today. My first one here for 2017 so I would like to first wish you a belated Happy New Year! Today I wanted to make a pretty card for a friend so I turned to a My Favorite things stamp set for some inspiration. I just love this stamp set and I really enjoyed using it this afternoon :) Here is the card I created:
I also made a video for my YouTube channel that I thought I would also share here too:
This time of year is just beautiful. The air is cooler, the leaves are changing and everything is so bright, vivid and beautiful. This weekend is Thanksgiving and it's one of my favourite times of the year.
I love making card for friends especially at thanksgiving, and this year I had a lot of fun creating this card:
Here is a video from my YouTube channel explaining and showing how I made this card:
Last month was my birthday and I received many crafty presents, one of them was a super cute unicorn stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! I was excited to get this stamp set and today was the day I got some time in my craft room to use it. I coloured several unicorns and wound up creating two cute cards with them. Here is what I came up with:
Here are the supplies I used to create this card:
and the colours I used to colour everything in:
The second card I made was a lot of fun to make but caused me a lot of trouble!! I decided to make a shaker card and everything that could go wrong with this card did...lol
I forgot to stamp the front of the card before I assembled it and then once I did everything started to leak out!! I was able to fix it but I had to alter my sentiment and put it onto a banner across the front. All in all I love how it turned out:
and here is all the supplies I used to make this card:
I explained my process of how I created these cards over on my YouTube channel, so I thought I would share that video here too...
It's been a hot and rainy day here, I'm hoping that tomorrow is a little nicer outside although I did have a wonderful day hiding out in my craft room! Well until next time...
Well today's card was really fun to make. I pulled out one of my all time favourite stamp sets from Papertrey Ink and some pretty pink and green inks and got started. This card was for my mom, last week was her birthday so I had a whole rose theme going on with her gift and a coordinating card. I got her some rose scented hand cream and soap and then some matching pink roses for her home. Making the card was just the icing on the cake as far is matching everything all together!!
The roses on the card was stamped using the Papertrey Ink "The Sweet Life" Stamp set and with some Simon says and Hero Arts inks. The Happy was cut out with my Silhouette and the Elegance font. I cut it out three times and then layered them on top of each other for some depth. I then covered the "Happy" with some clear Wink of Stella. The birthday was stamped with a stamp from a My Pink Stamper set Birthday Crazy. To balance out the card I used some Antique Linen Distress Ink on the top left and bottom right corners :)
Well it has been hot hot hot over the past couple weeks and I haven't had a lot of time to craft but I did have some time to do some craft room reorganizing :). My craft room organizing was nothing big but I did reorganize a closet in the back of my room that was full of clothes and boxes from our move from four years ago which I finally pulled apart and dealt with. It turns out that most of the stuff in the closet was able to be donated which freed up a lot of room for me and my craft stuff...lol There were some boxes that did remain so I stacked them on the left side of the closet which freed up the remaining middle and right side! We had a broken shelf in the garage which was going to go to the dump, so I brought it in and fixed it. Now it is sitting in my closet holding a lot of the stuff which was jammed in amongst everything else in that overstuffed closet . I wish I had a before picture but I do you have an after picture, I have just been in love with how the closet has turned out!!
Another area of my craft room that changed last week was my cubed shelving. It previously held our printer on the top of it which has now been relocated my husband's portion of the downstairs, which has left it free for me to pull out my beloved Cricut machine.
Over the past two years it had been on a shelf and was really difficult to use but now that it's out and ready, I can't wait to get using it once again. I also took some time and rearrange two shelves so I could reorganize all of my Cricut cartridges in a way that I can see them and have them ready and on hand :)
One great final edition has been this car air freshener from Bath & Body Works. I really love all their candles, hand creams, soaps and well just about everything...lol. I went there looking for a small candle for in my space but I have always been very cautious about candles so I was really happy when I stumbled upon this cute little thing:
It smells just wonderful! Our whole basement smells just like Sweet Pea... It smells just like the candle without any of the danger ;) (I'm just really worried that I'll forget to blow a candle out)
