Pretty Butterfly Cards

Well it is spring now according to the calender but I wish that Mother Nature would catch up! We have had such a long and cold winter this year that I am constantly dreaming about putting my winter coat away for good and breaking out my spring clothes. I am eagerly awaiting the ease of getting out the door each morning without a good twenty minutes of bundling up my three boys first! I am excited to see and smell all of the wonderful things that are spring, my personal favourite are the lilac's.

With spring in my thoughts often I am starting to create my what seems to be annual spring time cards. I send them out just like Christmas cards to welcome in our new and wonderful season.

The first spring time card of the year was created with a very pretty Memory Box Butterfly Heart die I bought and now just absolutely love. The sentiments are from my new Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders stamp set and an older Obsession Impression stamp set. On the blue butterflies I added some Wink Of Stella glitter to add some extra shimmer when the card is moved around :)

Looking ahead on my weather app I see that it is supposed to warm up by the end of this week and into next so maybe I"ll get my wish and finally experience some sighs of spring. Until then I think that I will keep on creating pretty spring cards...lol

Cupcake Cards

About a month ago, I won some inks from Simon Says Stamp and placed an order from their spring release and I am happy to say everything has finally arrived... Yay!!!

Over the weekend I had some time down at my craft table and I got to play with my new stamps and inks... I wound up creating these two cupcake cards.

Here is the YouTube video I made describing the cards I made.

The inks I used for this birthday card are:
Simon Says Stamp inks: Cotton Candy, Doll Pink, Sea Glass, Audrey Blue, Mint, Green Apple, Dark Chocolate,
Hero Arts: Light yellow
Memento Tuxedo Black

Everything is so nice to use and I cannot believe how many colours of ink I now have to choose from!!!

I hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by,
Cheryl

Throwback Thursday's

With all the new wonderful stamps coming out of CHA this year I have been having the desire to shop and shop!!! I would love to be one of the first to get my hands on some of the hot new products this year but sadly that's not a very realistic plan for me.

I found myself becoming mopey about not having ordered some of the new very very cute new Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, all the ladies on YouTube sharing their Lawn Fawn hauls was making me, well down right blue!

What did happen though was a reflection of what I do have. Lawn fawn released a very cute new dinosaur stamp set and I was already in-visioning all the wonderful creations I could make if I had that stamp set and dies, then I realized that I do have some very cute dinosaur images from my Create A Critter Cricut cartridge.

I decided that every week I am going to create something new with an old favorite! Something that I have owned for longer than a year - a stamp set, Cricut cartridge or both :)

This is my creation from my first week:

Here is my YouTube video describing and creating this card:

So that was last week.  This week mt approach was a little different. I started to look through all the stamps that I own. I started to remember all the plans that I had for these stamps, all the projects that I had mapped out for them. Then I started to update those plans and I created three cute cards from a stamp set I was so excited to buy, over a year ago!!! The sad thing about this stamp set is that I don't think I ever got around to using it, I just put it away and forgot about it :(

Here are the three cards from today's Throwback Thursday:

and here is my YouTube Video from tonight:

Well I hope that this new series has inspired you to go back and revisit some old favourite crafty products too!!

Two Pretty Birthday Card

This time of year our family is entering Birthday season...lol. There are several birthdays that are coming up in my family over the next couple of months, so I am thinking ahead to all the cards I get to make :)

I received a wonderful Papertrey Ink stamp set and dies from my husband at Christmas and I have finally had a chance to play with them!! I have just loved this diverse set and have a lot of fun creating some birthday cards that are all very different from each other.

Here is a video that I created for my YouTube channel sharing some cards that I created using my new Meadow Greens stamp set:

We are several days into March now and I hope that some warmer weather will finally arrive so the big ice clump at the end of my driveway will finally start to melt...lol!  I hope that you have a great night :)

Some Valentine's Treats :)

Well we all had fun day yesterday!! My youngest son is in JK this year so this was his first year really experiencing Valentine's Day and he just had a blast. My two older boys loved it too and it was a fun night for all of us.

Before I went to bed on Thursday I left some little goodies out on the kitchen table so when they came down for Valentine's morning this is what they would see:

I made them each a card with their favourite colour heart on the front so that they would each know who's is who's and I had their favourite treats as well.

When I came down in the morning there was a beautiful card and some chocolates for me and then when my husband came home from work he brought me these beautiful roses and some new crafty things :)

We watched the movie Turbo with the kids and had some pizza for supper! It was a great day and a fun night this year :) If you would like to leave a comment in the comment section below I would love to know how you spent your Valentine's day this year!

A Masculine Valentine's Day Card

I just love Valentine's day, all the bright colours and the fun of it all. I start getting ready for Valentine's day by making some red and pink hearts for around the house, hanging up a banner that I made a couple of years ago and by making cards for the people in my life.
I find it really easy making Valentine's day cards for all the  females in my life but it always a challenge for me to make a masculine card.
For some help I went and looked at the Mojo Monday site for a sketch I could use and I just loved the sketch that was for this weeks challenge.

Here is the card I made for my husband this year. I waited until now so that he wouldn't have a chance to see it before Valentin's day.

The red patterned paper is from Doodle Bug and the rest of the paper is Recollections. The black edges have been distressed and the red edges of the heart has been inked up with some Tim Holts Fire Brick Red distress ink. The heart and the tag was cut using my Cricut and my Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and the banner was cut with a Papertrey Ink die. The sentiment was stamped  with three little stamps from an Impression Obsession stamp set.

At first I was worried that the card was a little too dark fro Valentine's day but I when I gave it to my husband he really loved it, so I was really glad :)

I hope that you are having a great Saturday!!!

Getting Ready for Valentines

Well this Friday is Valentine's Day and I have been getting some cards done over the last couple of weeks but today I got some little treat bags made for the girls in my church group and some colouring done for another card.

I decided to keep the treat bags simple this year but I just love how they turned out!!

I made 10 of these little treat bags for tonight. I cut out 10 tags and hearts from my Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge. I embossed the heart with my Culltbug folder Hugs and Kisses and then stamped the back with a My Pink Stamper stamp.
The girls were so excited when they saw them, which I just love :)

Earlier today I had a chance to get some colouring in, my son was home sick today so we had a very quiet day. A lot of Olympics on TV and some crafting time for me :)
My husband surprised me with the light pack of the Spectrum Noir markers so I had some fun breaking them out of their package and using them..lol
I downloaded this image from Tiddly Inks and I just love how it turned out.

I am hoping that I will have a chance to make a Valentines card with this cutie tomorrow.

Well I'm off to bed,

Cheryl
