Today is Mike's Birthday :) I have been busy over the last little while trying to get things ready to make his day special. Getting ready for today I made him a supper cute card using the Lawn Fawn stamp set Love "n Breakfast. Here is a video that I made describing the card...
Over the last little while I have been really looking forward to
spring, it is my favourite time of the year!!! We have had a very
cold winter and are now beginning to get some warmer weather, which I am
loving...
To celebrate this beautiful time of year I am doing a
spring time card series. Last week’s card was the first in my series and today
I am going to share my second card in the series.
I have made a video describing my card for my YouTube channel, so
I thought that I would share that here too:
We have had a long and cold winter
here in Ontario, so I thought that I would make some cute and cherry spring
themed cards for some friends and family.
I decided to use this cute digital stamp fromTiddly
Inksto create my card:
I coloured in this cute little girl
using my Spectrum Noir markers. I added glossy accents to the hearts and
I distressed the edge of the paper and then inked it up with
some Faded Jeans Distress ink. I cut the clouds out with some Papertrey Ink dies and then added
some Studio g glitter glue to the edges and then popped them up on some foam.
The flowers and leaves are cut from a Martha Steward punch and from
the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge.
The sentiment is from a My Pink Stamper set: Flowers and
Friendship, I distressed the edge and then inked it up.
The patterned paper is from the Recollections Mosaic Memory
stack.
I hope that you have a great weekend :)
Thanks for stopping by,
Cheryl
Challenges I am participating in this
week:
Tiddly Inks:Challenge #107- Distress, Emboss or Stitch, Oh MY
Hi there, this week I am participating in theSimon Says Stamp and Showchallenge. This weeks theme is water so I decided to create
this card:
This is a 5 by 5 inch card, the background paper is
from the Recollections Mosaic Memory stack. The flower stamp is an Hero
arts stamp that I coloured in with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used
some distress inks and a text stamp to create the background. I dripped some
water on it and distress the edges to give it an aged look. I
used some Papertrey Ink twine and some butterflies that I punched from a Martha
Stewart punch to finish it off.
Hi there, Last month my husband
surprised me with some Spectrum Noir markers!!! I just love them and I have
been have been having a lot of fun colouring with them and creating some really
cut images :)
A couple of weeks ago I created this card with an image I found
from a Google search of digital stamps. I used my new markers to
colour it in and I got the idea for the card layout from aMojo Monday sketch.
Here is a video I made for my YouTubechannel describing my card in more detail:
After Christmas, Valentine's Day is my
next favorite holiday. Well, I know that Valentine's is not a real
holiday but it is something that I look forward to and decorate for...lol. I
love all the pink and red with Valentine's day, such cheerful colours for a fun
little day :)
I have been making some cards that I am going to mail off to
friends and family this week and here is a video that I made showing and
describing it:
I really love this card, and I really love this
cute little stamp set from Lawn Fawn :)
Last year my son and I made these delicious candy cane cookies to use up the last of the candy canes from Christmas. They must have been a hit because the minute I bought some candy canes this year he immediately started asking if would make them again. :)
This morning I got a call letting me know that the schools in our area would be closing and I had to go immediately and pick up our boys. Our area is under a big storm watch and they wanted everyone to get home before the roads became dangerous.
Having the afternoon at home with my boys I thought it would be fun to make some yummy cookies. My little guy was my main helper but my older two had to get in on the candy cane destruction ...lol
Here they all are having their turn at breaking up the candy canes:
Here they are all finished:
They turned out really yummy, I have just finished mine and I am now sitting with a nice cup of tea :)
I hope that you have a wonderful night... Thanks for stopping by, Cheryl
Here is the recipe for these yummy cookies:
Candy Cane Snowballs
3 c. powdered sugar, divided 1 1/4 c butter, softened 2 t. vanilla (or if you’d prefer a stronger peppermint flavor, you can replace 1 t. of vanilla with a teaspoon of peppermint extract) 1 egg 3 c. flour 1 T. baking powder 1/2 t. salt 3/4 c. finely crushed candy canes, divided
Icing 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2-3 T. milk
1. In a mixing bowl, beat 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar and butter until fluffy. Add vanilla and egg and beat until combined.
2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir to combine. Slowly add to mixing bowl, beating until combined, about 1 minute. Stir 1/2 cup finely crushed candy canes in by hand.
3. Roll dough into small balls using just under a teaspoon of dough. Rolls balls through granulated sugar to coat and place on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool.
4. While cookies bake, stir together remaining 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar with 2-3 T. of milk. Add just enough milk to form a thick glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies and top with remaining crushed candy canes immediately.
