A Wonderful Surprise!

Hi Everyone, I know it has been a while since my last post. Last week we-(my husband, my oldest son and myself), all came down with a bug :( It was an awful couple of days and it was even harder in that my two youngest did not get sick, and were just as rambunctious as ever...lol It was hard keeping them happy when I could not even get off the couch...let alone play with them and cook! That was the hardest part of all, preparing their food when I could not even look at food without being sick. I’m happy to say that everyone is better and my two little ones did not get sick :)
After all that I was lucky to receive a wonderful surprise.  It was a late Mother’s day gift from my sister. She said she has been working on it on and off for 5 years.  Isn’t it so beautiful....I was so moved, I love it :)

She did it all by hand; it is a counting cross stitch. I have made some myself but nothing this big! (I don’t have that much patients...lol)  And to finish it off she framed it, in a country like blue frame, which is my favourite colour :)

I also was busy making Mothers day gifts and I did make one for her. It was not as beautiful and half as special but I wanted to let her know that I was thinking of her too. We have both really been into painting our nails, and going into summer I thought that I would get her a fun colour to try out.

The bag and the tag on the back is from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cartridge. The flower is from the Forever Young Cartridge. I have inked the edges of the flower and layered them. The tag has been stamped with my sisters initial and that is from a Martha Stewart stamp set that I have.

To My Mother

I know that I have already made a "mom" card, but I felt inspired today to make one that was more on the pretty side. I had fun with last week’s card but I felt it was also more cute than pretty so that is why there are two!
I also remember being a kid and asking my mom if there was anything that she wanted for mother’s day, and her answer was always “I would like something pretty”
I hope that everyone has a nice Mother's Day,
Cheryl

Happy Mother's Day

I have been working on some Mother's Day cards for next week and I thought that I would share them with you :)

The flower is from the Forever Young cartridge stamped with a face from Peachy Keen stamp set.  The purple part of the flower has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and some leaves have been added, they are from the Straight From The Nest cartridge. The tag had been stamped with the Martha Stewart monogram stamp set
I Hope you have a great day!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  With the smell of  turkey that I am cooking lofting through the air, my boys are outside enjoying the second consecutive beautiful day and it is warmish and sunny :)
I just wanted to take this moment to share some crafts things that I have made the my boys and my niece and nephew.
Baskets for my boys

Each kid got a basket in their favourite colour :)

The front of the basket

I decorated all the other sides of the baskets with grass and hidden Easter eggs
Here it's full of all the goodies

You can hear a full description of how I made this cute little basket over at my YouTube channel – thecraftnut32! If you click on the YouTube button over to your right, it will take you right there :)

I hope you have a great day :)

Anniversary Cake

It has been a busy couple of weeks and all the craziness will be over for us on Wednesday when my husband has completed his final exam of the semester.

I have had a lot of fun over the last week making and filming the whole processes of me making the gum paste flowers for the topper of an anniversary cake. This is the first time that I have made any kind of video series, so thanks for sharing it with me :)
Once the cake is done and it is time to deliver it I always become bundle of nerves, but I am happy to say my husband did a wonderful job getting it there is one piece! Everyone seemed loved it, the couple was happy and we all had a great day!

Here is a quick video of some details about the cake:

I hope you have a great day!
