A Wonderful Surprise!

Hi Everyone, I know it has been a while since my last post. Last week we-(my husband, my oldest son and myself), all came down with a bug :( It was an awful couple of days and it was even harder in that my two youngest did not get sick, and were just as rambunctious as It was hard keeping them happy when I could not even get off the couch...let alone play with them and cook! That was the hardest part of all, preparing their food when I could not even look at food without being sick. I’m happy to say that everyone is better and my two little ones did not get sick :)
After all that I was lucky to receive a wonderful surprise.  It was a late Mother’s day gift from my sister. She said she has been working on it on and off for 5 years.  Isn’t it so beautiful....I was so moved, I love it :)

She did it all by hand; it is a counting cross stitch. I have made some myself but nothing this big! (I don’t have that much  And to finish it off she framed it, in a country like blue frame, which is my favourite colour :)

I also was busy making Mothers day gifts and I did make one for her. It was not as beautiful and half as special but I wanted to let her know that I was thinking of her too. We have both really been into painting our nails, and going into summer I thought that I would get her a fun colour to try out.

The bag and the tag on the back is from the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cartridge. The flower is from the Forever Young Cartridge. I have inked the edges of the flower and layered them. The tag has been stamped with my sisters initial and that is from a Martha Stewart stamp set that I have.

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. Cheryl;

    What wonderful gifts you both gave each other. The cross stitch is amazing - so much time and work into it!

    Happy Mother's Day

  2. Lovely gifts and sentiments behind a former cross stitcher, I can really appreciate all the love your sister must have put into those stitches....:)
    Glad to hear you and the family are on the mend....I just can't imagine, but then that is why mother's are so special because somehow they keep on keeping on.
