A Cute Shaker Card and Some Star Wars Fun :)

TGIF...lol It was a beautiful day today but a busy one. Everyone was very tired here today which made for a long day full of crying boys... but it did end well so I am thankful for that :)

I had some time today in my craft room and I took the opportunity to clean it out and organize, which was long overdue!!! It has been my dumping ground over the last couple of weeks so I am very happy that everything is put away, de-cluttered and organized. I also made some time to craft ;)

After receiving all my goodies yesterday from Papertrey Ink I was dying to take them out and play, I am very happy that I was able to do that today.
I made a birthday card with my new Papertrey Ink Sparkle and Shine stamp set for the little girl who lives next door. Her favourite colours are pink and purple so I kept that in mind while creating her card. I also made her a little treat box from my Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More - in pink...of course...lol

I have really been enjoying my PTI Shaker kit and I was really happy to use it once again. I used the heart confetti plate to cut out the little hearts in pink and purple and I also used some of the hearts and glitter that was included in the kit.

Yesterday there was a book fair at my boy's school and they all bought some new books. Matthew chose the final book in the Paper Yoda series,  ART2-D2's and has been busy all day making paper Star Wars things.
He was excited to share what he made, he made the Storm Troopers helmet with a trooper inside. How cute and clever is that??? This series is so cute, such fun books!!!

It's so much fun watching Matthew create these fun little origami puppets, he is doing such a great job and he is having a lot of fun too :)

I hope you have fun Friday night.

Falling Leaves Card

This has been one busy week for me. My oldest son had oral surgery on Wednesday (which went very well) and this morning I went on a class trip with my middle son, had a nice lunch with my hubby and finished off the day with an open house at the school!!! Tomorrow is a P.A day for my boys so all day it has felt like Friday but with the boys home tomorrow will mean that it will be a very busy day.

With everything I had going on today I was lucky enough to get some time in my craft room. I have been having a lot of fun creating fall cards and today I was back at it making another one :)

I made a video for my YouTube channel describing my card so I thought that I would share that here too:

Lots of Crafting!!! :)

Today was a quiet day for me at home. I took my moochy poochy hound dog out for two long walks and got lot of things done around the house and fit in some crafting time too!!!

I don't have much crafting to show you today, I recorded a video for YouTube that needs to be edited and posted. I made a video tutorial creating a another fall shaker card (the same as the one I posted on Sunday), so I will get that ready and posted over the next couple of days.
Here are the two finished shaker cards on a shelf above my kitchen sink waiting for me to fill them out and get them out into the mail...lol

I have crated a couple more backgrounds for upcoming YouTube videos but I thought that I would share them here today :)

The background on the right was created with some distress inks and the one on the right was make with my Inktense pencils. I love how they both turned out and I also love how different they both look!!

I hope you have a great night :)

Falling Leaves Shaker Card

I love this time of year, all the beautiful colours, the crisp air (well not today, it was 24 with a humidex of 28!!!) and looking forward to all the wonderful things to come :)

After a lovely morning at church I had some time this afternoon at my craft table. I have been looking forward to crafting for fall and today was a lot of fun doing just that!!
Todays card is a fun shaker card:

I have been planning this card ever since I received the Papertrey Ink Shaker and Sprinkles kit back in August. I used the oval dies for this card and for the inside and background I have used the PTI falling leaves stamp set. The leaves inside the shaker are cut from the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and inked up with Fire Brick red Distress ink.

I hope you have a lovely Sunday night :)

Happy Fall

With this being the last weekend of summer I am looking forward to fall. The leaves have started to turn and the colours are just beautiful.
This time of year I love to send out fall cards, I get so inspired by all of the beautiful colours around me and it's a great reason to say hello to family and friends :)

Todays card is a layered card with lots of colour!

I started off with some water colour paper and distress inks. I grabbed my Fire Brick red, Mustered Seed yellow, Wild Honey orange and Peeled Paint green. I water coloured all the colours all together for the background and then layered some vellum over top to soften the colours up a little.
I cut this cute little tag from my Cricut cartridge Plantin Schoolhouse and stamped the sentiment from the Papertrey Ink stamp set Falling Leaves. The yellow, orange and red leaves were cut with my Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and inked up around the edges with the same colour distress inks as the background.

I had a lot of fun creating this card and I hope to make a couple more through the week :)

A Card For a Friend :)

Well here we are at the end of another week and I am really looking forward to the weekend!! We don't have any real plans but I have a couple of things that I would like to do :)

I have not had much time at my craft table this week but I did manage to make a card the other day. I made this card for a really close friend, who has been very busy at our church getting things organized and set up for a lot of our children's groups. I know this can be a very busy and overwhelming task, so I wanted to make a little card to show her some encouragement.

I used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolhouse cartridge to cut out the heart and put some watercolour behind. I used three distress markers to paint the background on the watercolour and then splattered the front of the card with the remaining colour. The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things stamp set, Cheerful Blessings.

I love how this card has turned out and I really love that stamp set. I have had a chance to play with it over the last couple of weeks and cannot wait to share what I have created :)

I hope you have a great night :)

Trampolining...

It's been a really busy couple of days here for me, the weekends seem to just fly by!!! My oldest son was away on a sleep over and I had a bus
y day on Sunday at church.

About a week ago our neighbour gave us their trampoline that they were no longer using and our boys have just LOVED it!! They have coined a new term when referencing our new trampoline: "Hey mom, can I go trampolining"...lol

Here is Bobby showing off his moves for me, so I thought I would grab my camera... I'm glad I did because what a fun shot!!! :)

I was humming a hawing about what to do for out neighbours to say thank you and a friend suggested I should bake them some cookies, so that's what I did!! I made them this card to go with the cookies:

I used my Create a Critter Cricut cartridge for the two houses and a Papertrey Ink stamp set for the thank you sentiment. I wasn't sure about the thank you neighbour part because of the spelling but in the end I thought it was to cute to pass it up and it fit my thought exactly!!!

On a much different note I thought I would share another picture of Bobby with on of his favourite things, a Tim Horton's smile cookie! He has loved these cookies for the last four years and today Mike surprised him with one after supper :)

I had a nice surprise today too, I had some happy mail!!! When I got home I had these lovely crafty goodies waiting for me in my mail box:

On September 1st Simon Says Stamp started their Stamptember and released a lot of new goodies. I have yet to decide what to order but I did know that I would love to have a nice new yellow ink. I know that is a rather odd thing to order on its own but I only have two dark yellow so this would be a welcome addition and by ordering the yellow ink I received these balloon dies for free!!! I cannot wait to play with my new goodies tomorrow and test out this yellow :)

Well I hope that you have had a great day today!!

A Very Pretty Surprise!!

Over the last couple of days my husband has been away on a training course for work.  He has to travel for work about once a month and when he's away we all miss him a lot!!
Today when he got home he brought me this pretty little surprize...

I love flowers, they are just so cheerful!!! It really brightens any room and I really love just passing by and looking at them, it really cheers me up!!

I love that crafting is such a fun and happy thing but every once and while it's sad when you need to pull out those with sympathy stamps. Well today was one of those days for me.
My son wanted to give his teacher a sympathy card, she has just lost someone close to her and he would like to show her he cares.

I did not want to make anything to fancy, I kinda think less is more, especially with a sympathy card. I used my Simon Says Stamps Handwritten Borders stamp and a Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Getting Things Organized!!

Today I tackled a job that I have been dreading for months now. I spent some time in my in my two younger boys room and went through and organized all their cloths. Having three boys I keep all the cloths that Matthew grows out of for Bobby then everything from both of them for Nathan. We have a really big skid box in out garage and fill it with all  the cloths organized into big garbage bags according to size.

With last winter being so cold I went out to the garage for some bigger cloths for Bobby at some point but I did not take any of the small cloths out :( Because of that I was left with a really big mess!!!

Todays plan was to take everything out of their dressers and their closet, take out anything that no longer fit and then get the "new" clothes out of the garage. It was easer said than done...lol
It is now 10:00 pm and I still have one more bag to be packed up and take out... laundry washing and I'm just about out of energy!!!

Here is how things looked at the beginning... the top rail of clothes will stay, it's the boys dress clothes.

Here is their closet all emptied out...

And clothes are everywhere...lol

Once the new clothes came in from the garage there were a lot more clothes upstairs!!! I used my bed as a place to organize them and get them ready to be put away.
One nice surprize I stumbled upon today while I was in the garage was a set Fiber Castell water colour paints... I have already put them down stair into my craft room and cannot wait to try them out...lol

I hope that you have a nice day and a good night :)

A Lovely Dinner

Well the first week of school is now over and everything is back into full swing.  My boys have done such a great job of starting the new year and I cannot believe that they are now in grades 6, 3 and sk. they are all just getting so big!!!

Last night I wanted to have a nice Sunday dinner with my guys, so I decided to make a batch of cabbage roll soup. It turned out really delicious and we have enough left overs for at least two more dinners!!!

Matthew loves to pile as much food as he can onto his crusty bread...lol

And Nathan decided to talk to us like this, we couldn't help but laugh which of course kept it going  all through dinner!!

Bobby trying to cross his eyes too...

While I was cooking dinner I stumbled upon a little surprize that my husband had forgotten to give me on my birthday. It was back in August and it was a wonderful day but I had received all my presents the day before, so he had bought a little something extra so I would have something to open on the day of. Well that was his intention...lol

A fun little gadget and beautiful card!! I love this little flash light. It will be perfect for my craft room or some extra light while reading late at night. The card is so pretty, it has been sitting on my counter and I have loved watching the sparkly dress all day :)

Well I hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by,
Cheryl
